August - October

Wow, how has time gotten away from me with this thing again? Now I'm going to have to actually think of what happened the last few months... Gosh dang it!

August

Tubing The Salt River

Sadly, there is no pictures to go along with this adventure. But it was fun nonetheless. I took off the last day of public swim with one of the other guards, and we had a fun day of just being lazy on the river. Granted, it started with someone being a little grumpy in the morning... But hey, what can you do? The cold water took care of that! We did the top half of the river twice, which was so extremely fun. I screamed like heck during the rapids, and Justin made fun of me. Tis life. The second time around, we continued onto the second half. That half SUCKS. It goes so slow, and there are way too many dead spots! I blistered up for the first time in my life being I was just a sitting duck for the sun to attack. Stupid sun.

Cabin Trip

A couple weeks after the tubing adventure, I headed up north(eastern) with my mother for a trip to my cabin. I was thinking it'd be my last adventure here for the summer. Libby loved it, as always. And the place was gorgeous, as always. Nothing too eventful happened however.

Selling Teej

This was perhaps one of the saddest things that happened all year. My baby got sold, with very little noticed.

September

Jeeping

Jeremy and I packed up and headed to Colorado for the weekend, and brought his Jeep. That place is beautiful. The drive there is way too long though, I thought it was never going to end. Especially since we stayed in Ouray. Its like, hey you're in Silverton! But you've still got an hour to go. Not to mention on the way to Ouray, we stopped off and did a hike. And saw beavers, and a lake. Ready for the onslaught of pictures?
Ice Lake

Me Looking for the Beaver

Once we got to Ouray, we explored the town some... Then ate at the restaurant underneath our hotel. Which I really wasn't impressed with. At all. The next morning, there was an Immogene Pass Race. Like, on foot. Crazy people... Why would you do that to yourself? Surprisingly, a lot of the runners were from Flagstaff. They must run the San Francisco Peaks, or something. But after that, we had a sad complimentary breakfast at the hotel, then headed out for the day. We went through Silverton, hoping that our jerky guy would be open early. Sadly he wasn't. Which is extra depressing, because that might of been the main reason I was on the trip. I love my jerky! :( I'm depressed now just thinking about it. Maybe a winter ski trip to Durango Mountain... Then hoping he's open.

Anyways, the rest of the day, we went up to California (first two pictures), then to Cinnamon (not pictured), into Lake City where we at lunch (the lake is pictured), then back through Engineer Pass (pictured). We ended the day eating at the Ouray Brewery, which was pretty good. We also ate at an ice cream place earlier in the day. It was awesome, best ice cream sundae thing ever. Like, I'm in love with it for some reason. Super rich, not sure how they do it!

The next morning we set out early, went over Imogene Pass to Telluride, at breakfast at some place where I got a donut... Then headed home on another long drive.

Roadtrip

The beginning of the month, I went on a roadtrip with Amber. For a photo project of hers. We camped on the rim the first night, made an awesome fire and s'mores. The next day we drove around, then camped on the rim again. There was more than that... But I'm loosing steam for this post.

Cabin Trip

Near the end of the month, I took off to my cabin for a truly last trip up there of the year. With my cousin and her hubby! And Libby, of course. It was fun, and just more fun. Fires, s'mores, hot chocolate... Airsoft wars. It was a great weekend, no doubt.

Summer Has Come and Past

Wow, this last month has been kind of amazing. :) Actually, this last month and a half-ish has been amazing. Like, what could be better? Can't imagine much. Life's good that's for sure.

Summer Lovin'

Wow, its actually been a semi-eventful month or two. With Havasupai and all that. Although some of the events will be left out (and if I'm going on a Denny's date with you, I can tell you more specifics later).

Havasupai Trip, June 2012

Wow, can you say awesome adventure? Well, if you can, you're describing my weekend in a nutshell.

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Generally, I love the water and swimming. Except during summer. Then I hate it, and I also hate children. Work kind of kills things for me. I want to just die. Especially after today, when the children seemed to be especially horrible.

This weekend, however, I get a vacation. What kind? Havasupai! I'm super excited, and hopefully it'll go well and I'll survive.

May 2012 Greer Trip

So, probably just about two week ago, I decided I wanted to take a trip to Greer. If you keep updated with my blog, or just with me in general, you know that my family has a cabin up there. And its like my favorite place, ever.

But it was kind of a spur of the moment idea to go. I had three days that I didn't have to work last week. Wednesday - Friday. And that'd be my last real gap in work until... well, probably August. Which is really a depressing thought. As I'm enjoying a day off right now, that I accidentally requested off instead of tomorrow. Which is my brother's dental school graduation. I'm just a smart one.

But anyways, I went up there with the lovely Amber-girl. We brought Libby along as well. The adventures began fairly quickly.

Ghost of Me

This new blogger format is really throwing me off. Me no like-y!

Anyways, that's all I'm going to complain about that. For now. But the last time I posted, was roughly a month ago... Which is actually pretty dang frequent for me lately!

But here's my month:

Life... Once Again.

What have I been up to lately?
Well, to sum it up...

Almosts

I do not want to have many almosts in my life.
I don't want to almost finish school.
I don't want to almost be happy.
I don't want to almost fall in love.
I don't want to almost accomplish what I want.

I want to reach that point of finishing what I start. Kind of like an all or nothing thing.

School. Life. Everything.

Well, as I sit here in the middle of the University Center (or UCENT as its more commonly known) with nothing to do other than homework for the next three hours, I am inclined to slack off. And generally that means blogging... Or facebook... Or Netflix... And even for a while Tumblr. Lately it has not meant blogging. But that's okay, because I had a life-type thing for a while. Now, I don't know if you could call it that exactly. It died with the outpouring of dishonesty from people. So right now I am in the transitional point of friends. I've got the awesome ones that I have always had. A lot of those people are getting married though. Like Natalie and Tialene. Craziness.

But, right now I am in my fourth semester at ASU. And I including this one, I only have three left. So that's a year and a half left. And then I will be done with my bachelors... Trying to figure out what to do with it. If I want to continue to go onto a dietetics internship or what. Speaking of internships, though, I am applying for one in Alaska this summer. Its nutrition related, and I'll get to teach classes. But I'll also get to teach sports and stuff like that. Even swim! That'd be awesome. Plus, I've always wanted to go to Alaska. Its on my list of two places that I want to visit. Because I don't really care about anywhere else. Alaska and Germany. There you go... My life would be complete!

So... Internship... School... Explosion of social life... Nothing else really has happened in my life. I mean, the last one has caused the most drama in my life. But isn't that always so? And I've just decided not to care anymore. People are dishonest, and that's that. You can't change someone without them wanting to change personally. Even if they know that they are in the wrong, they will act none the wiser. And that's just how they choose to live their lives. Good for them? But not really, because dishonesty is hardly ever good. But, once you deal with people like that, I feel you come out a much stronger person before. And I definitely feel that I have. Go me. :)

I really am just rambling in this thing, with no real goal or anything... So I'm just going to call it before things get too weird. Haha.

Two Months Of... Nothing

So... I haven't actually posted on this thing for a while. Couple of months, to be correct. In that absence, what have I been up? Well, truth be told, nothing really. I mean, I had some pretty amazing times. I went to my cabin for nearly a week with my Mom and Rissa. I did other random things... Hiked up a mountain/ hill a couple of times. You know, the usual stuff that you do during the summer. Oh, and then, after summer I started school. Yup, I'm back at ASU. Living up the life of a Sun Devil (expect not really, I'm actually quite the failure of an ASU student). I go to school Tuesday and Thursday... And then I do homework pretty much every other day. I don't really see much of anyone. I've become the hermit I once was again, just to a lesser degree. And that's my life. Exciting, isn't it?

But you may recall that when I got out for summer break I made a list. This list:

"1) Go up to my Cabin with some of my girls
2) Go camping with friends (Green's Peak... Shooting involved hopefully)
3) Hike Mount Baldy!
4) Tube the Salt River (only done it once in my life... How sad is that?)
5) Go to Silverton... Preferably on the fourth of July.
6) Denny's Date with Lora
7) Costa Tuesday's with Amber
8) More Shooting
9) Take my Jeep out... Jeeping.
10) Thatcher!"

Its a fun list, yes? Well, according to this list I did have a pretty exciting summer. The only thing that I failed to accomplish was numbers four and five... Although those were really long shots. I did go to my cabin with my friends, which DID involve shooting. I didn't exactly camp out, but that's okay... I can do that at any point in the year. I hiked the Baldy Wilderness. I went on my Denny's date with the lovely Lora. I went to Costa with the wonderful Amber (although I'm not sure if it was a Tuesday, and it wasn't near as often as I hoped it would be). I went shooting, with the intention of blowing things up. I even went Jeeping, a couple of times. And then... Thatcher. I went twice. Once at the beginning of the summer, and once at the end. And seeing Heather was amazing, as always.

So all in all, I guess my summer was at least SEMI-productive.

My life lately has just been kind of boring... Going to work, coming home from work... Hanging out with people. Its just the same thing over and over again. Which, I'm not going to really complain about. I enjoy moments of it. Generally not work though. But because of work I've been oh so very tired, and I'm getting extremely dark and tan again.

Oh, and I have an infected toe. Yeah, I know, lovely. That's from work too. Go me.

Drowning

I feel like I'm drowning in my life right now.

Slowly
but
surely.
Now, as a lifeguard, I should know how to handle the situation, if we were going on either a literal or metaphorical standpoint. But I really don't. I've been in control of my life (or pseudo-control) for so long now, I don't know how to handle this feeling. I have two completely different ideas in mind, but they would bring me down two completely, dynamically different paths in my life. So this decision is just weighing down on me, like a 50 pound weight that I have to retrieve from the bottom of the dive tank. And for some reason, I just can't get it up. Its almost like its lodged in a corner. But while I'm down trying to retrieve it I'm slowly loosing my oxygen supply that I took the one breath above water to fulfill. Foolish, because this feels like something that I'm going to need an oxygen tank to figure out.

So now I'm stuck at a point where I feel I need to make a decision. I need to come back up to the surface for air. But I don't want to face the possible ridicule that comes with making a different decision that will bring me down a different path than the one I'm on now. I also don't want to pursue something that I don't know if its right for me. That's what I'm doing right now. But there is no option that I know is right for me right now. I just want progression. I want something in my life to progress, and not stay at the standstill that it is now. I want some small source of oxygen while I try to remove the 50 pound weight.

Is that too much to ask?

What's that? It's Hot?

Guess what blogging world? I'm done with my first year of college! That's right, I'm no longer a Freshie (although credit-wise I never was)! I'm now a Junior, meaning I only have two more years of college. Class of 2013 here I come. And then PA school... But I'll think about the length that will add on at another point.

But being done means I'm on summer break now! What will I do with that break you ask? Probably a whole lot of nothing. But it will be an awesome whole lot of nothing! With a few awesome somethings here and there. I'm really excited for those awesome somethings. They will be, well, awesome!

There are a few things that I really want to do this summer:

1) Go up to my Cabin with some of my girls
2) Go camping with friends (Green's Peak... Shooting involved hopefully)
3) Hike Mount Baldy!
4) Tube the Salt River (only done it once in my life... How sad is that?)
5) Go to Silverton... Preferably on the fourth of July.
6) Denny's Date with Lora
7) Costa Tuesday's with Amber
8) More Shooting
9) Take my Jeep out... Jeeping.
10) Thatcher!

There are more, but they don't come to mind at this exact moment. We will see which ones will happen. There are a couple that will definitely happen, as they don't require much travel.

BUT ITS SUMMER BREAK!!!
which means i'm good with the heat

Cowboys

I love old men with cowboy hats in trucks. They make me happy. Life is a lot happier now than it was a week ago. Why? Because my chemistry final is over. Which means life can resume being happy. And then beyond that... The only things that I have left are anatomy and nutrition. Which I'm not all that worried about. Yay!

Chemistry = Death

School. Its killing me. Slowly, but surely. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to survive these next couple of weeks. Actually, its more like a week and a half. And I'm not really concerned about two of my finals... Only my final anatomy test (which will be difficult, but not too bad) and my chemistry test. That's what's going to kill me. Right there. I'm going to have to study so dang much for it, its insane. There are so many concepts that just went right over my head throughout the semester. And what's sad is that I knew them all at one point... I've just forgotten them, and they aren't coming back easily. So that means I'm probably going to log 20 + hours of studying specifically for chemistry in this next week. My mind wants to explode just thinking about it. Ouch.

So, that's why, if I disappear or become very antisocial for the next week and a half... You'll have a reason. Chemistry, anatomy and nutrition. I'll be done with my Religion class pretty soon... And then I'm done with my other nutrition class. So those three. But mostly Chemistry. Like next weekend, after my chemistry final, I should be somewhat more social. I cant wait!

Slump

Yes, I realize that I've hit a major slump in my blogging as of late. But that's mostly caused by actually doing things in my life. And a lack of wanting to write random things on my blog. It will revive itself eventually... It always does. So I wouldn't worry all that much.

April!

Well, its the beginning of a brand new month! How exciting is that? It means that school is coming to an end really quickly here. I will only have two more years until I get my bachelors... I'll be twenty one when I get it. How odd. But that's only if I make it through this semester. Such a weird thought... Finals are getting close. Ugh.

But this Month is looking like it will start out amazing. Right from tonight on. I mean, conference is this weekend for one thing. I love conference! Although I need to figure how to watch it without having my family distract me. I might be making a couple trips down to the stake center. Who knows? :) Also this month is Country Thunder. I'm not going, but I can still hope that somehow I'll end up there. Some awesome stroke of luck. Even if I just go for one day. Ohh, good happy thoughts. How I love thee.

Some things that I hope this month brings: clarity, happiness, friendship, maybe even love. The last isn't really a realistic expectation. But life happens, and things happen. So I'm not going to rule it completely out. The second one I know wont be consistent. I can probably be joyful more than happy. Because they are two different options.

But yes, this was my post welcoming in the new Month! Oh yeah!

Einunddreißig; Es ist fertig gestellt.

Day 31 - A picture of yourself
This picture was taken since the beginning of this challenge. And since the beginning of the challenge, I feel like a lot has changed in my life. My want to move out of my parents house and become independent has become even stronger... And then my goals in life have gotten confused. For the past four years I've been on a single path: PA school, and all that. But now I've been thinking about other paths, other things that I could do. And I just don't know if its really what I want to do anymore. And on top of that, new views have become really appealing to me. And that kind of scares me. Because they are so off track from what I'm used to thinking. What I grew up thinking. And then you have the whole thing where I can't just make a decision to be happy. I'll somehow be selling myself short, in the view of some people in my life. Again, I just need to move out.

I guess this experience has just caused me to think. I feel like it went deeper than it was meant to.

And then you have my confusion in my life. Its brought to life this:
Rainbows in life wouldn't be possible without a little rain.
